Men vs women scrub fits for healthcare teams

Cut differences, jogger vs straight-leg pants, and how to plan a balanced catalogue for mixed clinical teams.
Men’s and women’s medical scrub blocks are graded differently through the shoulder, chest, hip and rise. Ordering a unisex-only range can leave half the team with poor fit and higher alteration costs.
Women’s tops often use princess seams or shaped side panels for a closer torso line. Men’s tops prioritise shoulder width and sleeve mobility. Pocket height and depth should match how clinicians actually carry scissors, phones and notebooks.
Pants: straight and bootcut silhouettes still sell for classic programmes; joggers with rib cuffs and zip pockets suit long shifts and modern brand lines. Confirm rise, thigh ease and inseam options separately for men and women.
Build a balanced catalogue: core V-neck tops, one utility top, classic pants, one jogger, plus jackets and lab coats. Mirror key colourways across men and women so teams look coherent on the floor.
Fit sessions on sample sizes (usually S/M/L) catch grading issues before export. Record preferred ease and update the tech pack — that feedback compounds across every reorder.
